Made a few other things I though were worth showing. First off - the sewn voile infinity scarf. I picked a bold floral print on one side, and understated, grey geometric one on the other. Really like to wear this over drab winter clothes to will the spring to come sooner.
I also knitted a pair of socks in the cotton/bamboo/silk blend yarn following a mystery knit along pattern. They turned out pretty nice. I like the geometric lines on the cuff.

Zipping through sewing classes
Took another class at Stitch. This one involved making zipper pouches. LOVED how it turned out. It really looks legit!
I will be making a few more of these, that's for sure.

A hat fit for a lizard prince
So I dreamt up, designed, and knit up a little hat for my cousin's baby boy. My cousin is VERY much into lizards, so I knew I had to incorporate a lizard in my design. In the process I learned how to double-knit. The lizard was tricky to do without having some skewing here and there, but perfection is not the goal here.
Off to be mailed tomorrow. I really hope she likes it. Really, really hope she does.

Don't like how you can see between stitches, but overall not bad

Another thing I learned - for tight pom-poms, use lots of yarn

Also - learned that blocking makes a great deal of difference - from now on, I'm blocking everything

Reversible - the inside might look just as good as the outside

Vroom, vroom pillow case
I've taken sewing lessons before. I've sewn a few projects. But when Stitch started offering beginning sewing classes this month, I had to sign up. For one, my sister - who has never sewn before - signed up and I wanted to support her. And two - I just love the store, the friendly owners, and their merchandise.
Our project was a pillow case using the French seam method. When I first went in to sign up, Jack was with me, and he made a bee line for the fabric with cars on it. He kept pointing at it and saying "vroom! vroom!" and I knew what had to be done. That pillow case was to be his. It was decided.
Even though this fabric wouldn't have been MY first choice (the stuff Stitch has is amazing!), I couldn't be more pleased with the end product. And I know Jack is going to appreciate it when he comes home from majka & dido's house.
I met some lovely ladies and got to do something fun with my little sister, creating something for my baby boy. And I also learned something new. All in all, a wonderful event. I've already signed up for a couple more classes coming up.

Pirate's Booty
My little dude is stylin'. He is starting to develop preferences in clothes. It's super cute and sometimes really inconvenient (toddlers don't care about seasons/temperatures/color coordination). The tights he wore today are a riot. I bought a few different ones via a great deal on Zulily. He will be getting a lot of mileage out of them as they allow him to move around unrestrained.

Back to the grind
Today I reluctantly went back to work, Jeff started his new part-time gig, and Jack headed back to daycare. He missed his buddy JM, and the two of them held hands throughout the day. Our sleeping schedule is off, so all three of us are tired. We'll be definitely hitting the pillows early tonight. Speaking of pillows, this little boy discovered the joys of jumping on the bed. Here he is, being cute and bouncy.

Happy New Year!
We spent New Year's Eve with my family. Jack was up past midnight. He was the life of the party.
He danced the night away to my cousins playing guitar.
He did not want to go to sleep at all.
It was a wonderful way to welcome the New Year. LOVE these folks! (Some faces were concealed to protect their privacy.)
