Greenery

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, so I decided that it would do us well to use the swing on our back porch.
Our backyard view
Blue skies and green trees
Here is my little 7 week old (I find that time passes unbelievably quickly with babies).
Enjoying the swing with mama
Wearing his Kicky Pants pajamas and grandma's crocheted blankie

So serious
Baby boy has been fussy more than ever this week, so I've been feeling a little blue. Motherhood is both wonderful and difficult.
One moment my chubster is just content...
...the next, the tears start

...and a full blown scream fest ensues. Yikes!

Out and about

Sometimes you just have to leave the house. So today mommy went to the doctor, daddy went to see the dentist, then we all took a trip to the mall and met my sisters for supper. Finally, hubby went fishing in the early evening with his buddy Tony, while baby and I relaxed at home. Here are a few photos from today.

Willow cowl

Yes! I completed something that doesn't fall into the routine stuff I perform around the clock.
Having a baby has limited my *free* time. When I'm not busy with him (my favorite time, anyway), I'm pumping, doing laundry, trying to pick up quickly around the house, making/eating food and tending to my basic hygiene needs. Now and then I'm too tired to do anything but just sit and watch my offspring sleep. It's then that I pick up my yarn and needles and marvel at the therapeutic effects of knitting.
Willow cowl
This cowl was made with one of my favorite yarns (Ella Rae Lace Merino). The pattern is fun and easy, but looks elegant and elaborate. I modified the pattern a tad due to yarn shortage. It is light and breezy and the colors go with lots of stuff in my wardrobe. I'm seriously tempted to make another one of these in another colorway. But maybe I'll try to finish some other projects first.

Baby, baby, baby

Days pass so quickly and are filled with feeding, changing, holding, soothing this little babe. I'm loving every minute of it, even the nights when both mama and papa are tired and the baby is screaming for hours.
He is growing so fast. He is already wearing some 3-6 months outfits, like the one in the picture above. By the way, that outfit is by Kate Quinn Organics - Violet & Moss. Love this stuff - it's so soft but sturdy.
