Little things

I got a package in the mail today that I did not anticipate. It contained two discs with a note from my cousin Budo.
He burnt me some albums by artists that we both liked. It's a present that will keep on giving. :D
I love my oldest cousin (I've got 20+ first cousins). He is more like a brother to me. This was such a thoughtful gift - it made my day.

Another thing that made my day was watching my puppy take a nap and twitch in his sleep. He must have been chasing a squirrel.
It's little things like this that make life worthwhile.

Happy New Year! Yay for 2010!

Hubby and I rang in the New Year with Tony, Alex, Spomi, Matt, Desiree, Ivan, Greg and Ariel. It was quite rowdy.
My bff and I took some shots of us taking shots.
And I was happy GregAriel was able to find a babysitter.
Bff's new boyfriend, who I met twice in my life - and both times he spent the night at our house.

Unfortunately, I didn't take enough pictures. The night was long and some parts were fuzzy. But oh what fun we had...

Pretty, pretty yarn

I love yarn. Here are some recent acquisitions. The first one will become hubby's hat.
This ebony merino/cashmere blend will become a hat for my cousin.
And this fun, colorful treat is going to be something rather pretty for me. :)
I hope I will get a chance to grow my stash in 2010.

My mama is a crochet queen

This morning I walked into my cubicle to find a beautifully crocheted hat on the chair. (My mom works for the same company as me). It warms my heart to know I have wonderful parents who care about me so much.
This piece of art was created by my sweet and caring mother. Thank you, mom! I will always cherish it. (And dad, you know I love you, too - your wisdom and affection mean the world to me).
Then I came home to find a clean and organized home, and my husband making me a delicious dinner. My hubby is a dream boy. I am so grateful for my loved ones. Nothing else in this world is more important.
I know I am being sappy - but I don't mind it. :D

Holidays with in-laws

Hubby's family decided to celebrate on Sunday, since we were all snowed in on Christmas. Food was delicious, the treats were yummy, and the presents were plenty.
We also played Cranium. I think only my sister-in-law and myself enjoyed that game. It was a nice and cozy get-together.

Winter Wonderland

I am not a fan of winter. But even I marveled at the sight in my backyard this morning. There is something magical about the weakened sun, long shadows, and sparkling snow.
Pretty.
