It's been too long since my last update. Time to get caught up...

1.) Sisters' 21st birthday - Hubby and I drove over to my parents house to celebrate my sisters' birthday. Got talked into taking a picture by the tree. It's probably my first photo showing my huge bump.

Winter blahs

I know, I know... it's been a while since my last post. It's just that this winter has been so uninspiring. I feel unmotivated and tired. It's like this every winter.

I have decided to knit a sweater this year, so I found a pattern and purchased yarn for it. Can't wait to get started. That should keep me going while I am waiting for the snow to melt.

Speaking of melting... we have huge icicles all around our house. As much as I dread their presence, I can't help but admire their beauty. Here is a set just outside our guest room (my crafts chambers).

I am sure they could kill a person. Some of these are as big as my legs. It looks like my house has sharp teeth. :D

AJ's 24th birthday

I finished another knitting project. This one was made for my friend AJ, who celebrated his 24th birthday yesterday.
I think AJ liked it.
My sisters, Spomi, AJ, and his sister Sara met at Taki (a local Japanese steakhouse) to celebrate the occasion. We all love sushi, which you can probably deduce from previous posts. We ordered a ton of it. The food was amazing and the conversation was rowdy. We got a lot of glances at our table from the other patrons.

Happy New Year! Yay for 2010!

Hubby and I rang in the New Year with Tony, Alex, Spomi, Matt, Desiree, Ivan, Greg and Ariel. It was quite rowdy.
My bff and I took some shots of us taking shots.
And I was happy GregAriel was able to find a babysitter.
Bff's new boyfriend, who I met twice in my life - and both times he spent the night at our house.

Unfortunately, I didn't take enough pictures. The night was long and some parts were fuzzy. But oh what fun we had...

Holidays with in-laws

Hubby's family decided to celebrate on Sunday, since we were all snowed in on Christmas. Food was delicious, the treats were yummy, and the presents were plenty.
We also played Cranium. I think only my sister-in-law and myself enjoyed that game. It was a nice and cozy get-together.

Winter Wonderland

I am not a fan of winter. But even I marveled at the sight in my backyard this morning. There is something magical about the weakened sun, long shadows, and sparkling snow.
Pretty.

Christmas Eve with family

We spend every Christmas Eve with my family. This year was no exception.
Here is my sister Ami with the fine merino silk yarn and the J.Crew headband I got her.
And below is my sister Adji with her new headband and shoes. My sisters always look gorgeous.

I got my mom a necklace with a heart pendant.
And my dad was spoiled with awesome presents.
Despite the recession, a lot of presents were exchanged in our family.
We also built a ginger bread house.
It was a messy job. My cousin Budo helped.
Dad grilled salmon.
The table looked so festive and the food was delicious, as always.
It was a great night. There is nothing like the holidays with family.

Celebrating holidays with friends

My bffs came over on Wednesday night so we could celebrate the holidays together. We decided that in lieu of presents, we would bring food and drinks to share.
After eating, we drank wine and played Scategories. It was a very pleasant evening.
AJ brought garlic pesto rolls, Spomi brought bruschetta, and Desiree brought spinach dip and a cheesecake. I provided sushi and pretzel cheese bites. It was way too much food.
I love my friends. They are kind, caring, and interesting people. I am so grateful to have them in my life.

Happy 19th birthday, little sisters!

Instead of going out to eat, I suggested we celebrate my sisters' birthday at home. I picked up my sisters at 6pm at the campus, and then we headed to our parents' house, where the dinner was waiting. We had salmon, asparagus, linguine, mushrooms... It was quite a feast.

Mom also made cakes for my sisters. They were made from scratch. Absolutely delicious!

And then it was the obligatory picture time. Me and my beautiful sisters...

Then it was gift-opening time. I got the girls UtiliTea electric kettle for their dorm room. They

really needed it. I also got them tea infusers and cup lid sets each, with lots of different tea samples.

And mom and dad got them nice tea thermos so they could take their freshly brewed tea from the dorm room to their class room this winter.

As you can guess, the theme was "tea time for the twins". My idea. These girls like their tea!
