6 months

My baby boy turned six months today! How fast the time has flown. We adore this little guy. He is so well-behaved and happy, but he definitely has a personality. The only time he cries... or rather, whines is when he is tired or hungry. He laughs often, makes funny noises, almost sits unsupported, likes to jump around and grab things. He is lovely in every way.

This past weekend we celebrated a friend's first birthday party. Jackers was so good the entire time. I was so proud of him.

Since my body shape hinders me from wearing fashionable clothes, I'm definitely using my baby boy to make a fashion statement. Here are a few shots where he is featuring some cute baby boy outfits.

Random on a Saturday

This is going to be a post with unrelated bits added together without any clever transitions. It's late on Sunday night and I'm tired. Yet, I feel like it's time I make another post.

1. Out at Cheesecake Factory with my sisters. Baby boy's awesome stroller allows him to sit at the table without much trouble. He was well-behaved. I had fish tacos, hubby had a hamburger with blue cheese dressing.

3. Great family news! First we surprised hubby's grandmother by not telling her her son came up from Texas to see her. Then hubby's niece had a little surprise for all. She wore a t-shirt that said "I have a secret" on the front and... "I'm going to be a big sister" on the back! Jackers will have another cousin around his 1st birthday. We are all so excited!

4. My lunch and snacks for tomorrow. Hard-boiled egg, 1 oz almonds, 5 prunes, almond creme Greek yogurt topped with flax seed, Babybel light cheese, and 2 oz whole wheat penne mixed with lemon-zest tuna, 3 kalamatta olives and a teaspoon of capers.  I'm determined to eat healthy and in right portions.

The greatest love of my life

Like many new parents, I'm just amazed at the amount of love I feel for this little human being that demands so much of my time and attention. Both hubby and I love him beyond words. It's amazing what he does to our hearts.

And another summer concludes with the the Iowa State Fair. We chose to go with our friends S and A this year. This was Jack's first visit, and he was just wonderful. The weather was nice and we found some free parking. Baby boy took everything in and seemed to enjoy it all. Here are some photos from the day.

This morning baby boy and I went over to my parents' house for breakfast. We watched grandpa and auntie working in the garden.

Later we headed home and had our auntie S come over. We took a stroll and had dinner together. Baby boy was rocking his outfit. It's so much fun to dress him.
