Maggie feels like dancing

This weekend I had a chance to prepare our niece Maggie for her dance recital. She is so cute!
Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us take pictures (you had to buy them from overpriced photographers), so this sneak peek isn't as sharp as I'd like it to be. Maggie was the best dancer in her group. The other girls looked to her for directions, and she had sass (second from left).
There she is with her uncle, post-show. I think he is proud of her. I know I am.
Way to go, Maggie!

Picnic at the lake

On Saturday my bff and I had a picnic at Big Creek. We ate veggies, crackers and cheese and soaked up the sun.
Then we joined my hubby and his friend. They were fishing not far away.
I had to include this pic because I just love Spomi's dress.
We watched the clouds and the ducks on the lake. It was a much needed mini vacation.
We stayed with Jeff and Joe until sunset, then we went home, tired but rejuvenated.

Camp ground fish dinner

Yesterday at my parents' house, my mom made fish (that my dad caught) on a campsite skillet.
It tastes absolutely yummy!
My mom is a pro. Although I think she burned an eyebrow in the process. :)

The purpose of golden retrievers

This is what my doggy does. He ignores a toy until the said toy finds its way under the couch. At that point, it becomes my dog's mission in life to retrieve THAT toy.

He would spend hours doing this if we didn't have mercy on him. But I guess that's why they call them Retrievers.

Husbands can be so sweet

I came home from work today, only to find a clean and organized house, laundry done, and a delicious dinner waiting for me. I love my hubby. He is so kind and thoughtful. What a man!
We ate out on our deck, where I had a nice view of my luscious lettuce.
It was quite a view. I love dinners out on our deck.
And of course, while we were eating, this big fella was begging for food.
(Kad sam danas došla kuci sa posla, dočekala me večera i čista kuća. Moj dragi je sve pripremio za mene. Baš sam našla sebi divnog supruga. Dok smo večerali, gledali smo našu baštu, u kojoj je opet nikla majkina salata. A ćuko je nas gledao i molio za koji zalogaj.)

A day in the life of an MBA student... - UPDATED

  1. Review for the quiz on Friday. Read the study guide 10 times if needed - I want to finish with a bang. - Not quite there yet. Reviewed it once. Hope I get a chance to read through it a few more times tomorrow during my lunch break.
  2. Read the three assigned articles for the class on Friday and take notes on key lessons. - Read one of the articles. Two more to go.
  3. Complete in-class team peer evaluations, plus a self-evaluation. - Done! Ready to be turned in.
  4. Meet my team mates to review our final team project. Help with editing and finalizing. - Done! Reviewed and edited the paper. Wrote the introduction and added the cover page. Sent out to team.
  5. Import audiobook (a textbook for my class in Italy) into my iTunes. I am not going to spend my time in Italy with my nose in the book. Instead, I will explore the scenery while listenting to the textbook on leadership. - Imported 6 out of 10 discs. May or may not finish tonight.

I think this is good for now. I will update on my progress later in the evening. - So I didn't quite make it. But hopefully I can complete the rest of it tomorrow. Not bad...

(What? You wanted to know what's going on in my life. Well, here it is.)

Happy Mother's Day!

Today I surprised my mom in the morning, bringing her a big bouquet of flowers.
Of course we had to take a group mother/daughters photo. My cousin Budo was there too, so we all had a hearty breakfast, some laughs, and then we even got to Skype with family in Switzerland.
Then I drove over to my mother-in-laws, and at first she didn't open the door, so I was going to leave the flowers and the card on her porch. I just LOVE the color of these flowers.
But then she got to the door and so I spent some time with her. Here she is talking to Jeff on the phone.
And here is Izzie, my mother-in-law's cute little doggy.
And now, back to homework...
