Knitting frenzy

I've been knitting obsessively. I have 4 projects on needles. A couple of hats, such as this Felicity design.
And then there is the Star-Crossed Slouchy Beret.
I've also started a baby dress. When it comes to knitting clothes, I want to start small.
And then there are the dreaded Milo socks that will take forever to knit.
Ahh, my favorite fall/winter past time. So cozy!

I got my love to keep me warm

I got a new, warm, down Kenneth Cole coat. Very Euro. My old coat's zipper broke, and I can't wear wool coats because of my dog's tireless (and I am sure intentional) shedding. I like it. Cold Iowa winter - bring it on!
I also got myself some in-house bootie slippers. Makes me think of Scandinavian fjords.
And I started a new project - star-crossed slouchy beret. The Malabrigo yarn I am using is so soft and fun to knit with.
And I had to share with you an Awww-worthy moment. The other night, I heard my hubby singing a sweet tune, and when I sneaked in the living room, I caught this tender moment. My hubby was singing to our puppy (while playing with his ears). My heart completely melted.

Fetching fingerless gloves

My fetching fingerless gloves are finally done! Yay! They are super-soft and just in time for cold October days.

Weigh-in Week 5

Booo! It's the week of fatigue, bloating, cravings, and crazy mood swings. And the scale shows it. I knew this would happen, so I am not really disappointed. Just got to keep going. Today's workout was awesome. I burned over 800 calories based on my heart rate monitor. Yeah!

Haunted forest

Friends and I decided to do scary stuff for the Halloween season, and the first activity was the local haunted forest/village attraction. I have never paid to get scared before, so I was a bit reluctant about the whole thing. Luckily, my brave sisters joined me on this journey.
Myself, M and Z before the adventure.

We then met up with my BFF S, her sister Z, and her brother D.

Then there were nine. We were joined by our friend A, and his friends A & J.

It was mad fun. We were screaming and laughing the whole time. Wouldn't call it scary, though.

Here is the gang with awesome 3D glasses on. They look like nerds and crime fighters (except for A on far right - he looks like a grandpa who fell asleep). :D

The first Halloween 2009 activity was a success. I think next we are going to see Paranormal Activity.

Weigh-in Week 4

OMG! Wow, I really liked what I saw tonight! I am down 3.8 pounds compared to last week. I have been working really hard - so for those of you on any kind of diet/exercise plan: do not give up.

This is a 2.3% weight loss in a week. I am not sure I am going to see big results next week. I just hope the weight doesn't creep back up - since it's going to be that time of the month. :(

Swedes do it again!

Besides Volvos, Ikea, and Jose Gonzales, Sweden delivered another wonder: Koop Islands by Koop. I've fallen in love with this album. Absolutely beautiful. Their orchestrated sound is achieved by slowly putting together thousands of small clips from records. It's Nu-Jazz and it's lovely. Vocals on this album are provided by singers I love, such as Ane Brun and Yukimi Nagano. You just gotta YouTube them.
